A true Christian loves his/her enemies because God does, and that is reason enough. No one created in God's image and for whom Christ died can be my enemy unless I am more devoted to a political theory or my own ego than to God's love. If The Lord's strategy for dealing with his enemies was to love them and give Himself for them, it must be ours as well. Your Word is clearly against human violence, and therefore against any state which would inflict human violence for any reason.
