Thank you for recognizing this injustice and condemnation. I may have only represented 3% of those who came here to pray the 40 days Vote challenge, nonetheless, my commitment and faith in Obama did not waver. I do not believe I have somehow sinned for voting the way I did or believing Obama best represents the version of Jesus I so willingly surrender to follow each and every day. I expect he will execute democracy with the same level-headedness, careful thought, desire to take counsel and direction from the wise he selects to surround him in his administration, and pushing forward to begin the healing our country has had since we legalized, supported, and encouraged slavery almost three hundred years ago. I had trouble eight years ago supporting President Bush because he wasn't my choice for President elect but over time, I realized God appoints leaders so it wasn't up to me to squabble, grumble, and groan. I needed to get to business with finding a way to pray for him. That is something only God could do for me and He did. He is faithful to help us when we ask Him and willingly allow Him to clean house for us.

According to the PPT poll, about 97 percent of us were praying for the victory of John McCain. After Sarah Palin was named his running mate, I felt the deep urge to pray for this election. I even tried something I have never done before- I fasted one day, once a week, for eight weeks leading up to yesterday. Many of my other Christian friends and neighbors felt the same urge to pray, and we met regularly to pray over this election.
After the results came in last night, I wondered...why did God call me to pray so fervently for this election? I thought it was so that McCain and Palin would win the election, but now I feel I was led to pray because the Lord knew that they would not win. God is God. And God is good. And He ALLOWED America to have its way. I pled for divine intervention, for a miracle. He answered no. I am sad, but the urge to pray has not left me. Instead, it has grown stronger than ever.
Prayer warriors, all soldiers have two strategies: offense and defense. It is now time to switch our prayers to the defense. We need to pray NOW MORE THAN EVER for America's safety, as our enemies may now be emboldened. We need to pray NOW MORE THAN EVER for the spiritual revival of the sleepy church in our land. We need to pray NOW MORE THAN EVER for hearts, souls and minds to be turned toward God.
And we need to pray NOW MORE THAN EVER for Barak Obama. Now that the race is won and the crowds have left, does he really know and understand what he's gotten himself into? What kind of people will he decide to surround himself with, to advise him? To whom will he listen?

Let's pray that God will protect the moral gains we've made. It looks like all the marriage propositions last night were successful and I praise God for that!
There are only 19 and a half months between Barak's inauguration and the 2010 mid term elections. Let's pray that there are no huge sweeping changes in the judges or on moral issues during this time. Let's pray that starting today, God will raise up godly senators and representatives who will be courageous leaders in the next congress. Oh how we need strong, principled, godly leaders!

We did not coerce the undecided pregnant or uncertain women who came through our doors. We educated them, loved on them, listened to them, and gave them options before leaving our outreach center. Much like Obama's campaign, we were built from the ground up --- grassroots organization. We were privately funded and relied upon word of mouth to grow. My eldest sister, who died of breast cancer last year at 44 had an abortion at 16 years old. She spent the rest of her life trying to rectify it and recompense for it. She rescued and adopted 6 unwanted children from our local foster system. None of us believe in late birth abortions or abortion assisted birth control but there are viable times when abortion is the only recourse for a woman or a couple. Don't try to platform you are God and that you set the absolute standards for truth. Some decisions are not meant to be public and I believe this one can only be held between God and those who must make such decisions. Let us agree to disagree but stop pronouncing judgment on people. The biggest difference I notice in anti-abortionists and Pro-Lifers is the level of hatred, disdain, coercion, and fanatical frenzy in the delivery of anti-abortionists. An anti-abortionist would prefer to see their opposition not only defeated but harmed in some way. I do not see this message being emulated by Pro-Lifers --- simply a desire to intercede on behalf of the unborn minority, death row candidates, and the deafening silent voices of the terminally ill or mentally incapacitated. I chose not to hang around or associate with people who are driven by such maddening obsessions. Unhealthy drives which propel them to project such a tainted image of Christ that they can no longer identify. My Jesus is loving, kind, balanced, fair, honest, and direct, but never malicious. Jesus knows how to ask the right questions to get us pondering about why we think or believe the way we do so that over time we can claim truth as our own invested treasure through the inner workings of the Holy Spirit. He doesn't bludgeon us into submission. He uses the rod and staff along with His voice to coax us to seek His path of least resistance --- one which seems narrow but is sure-footed because it is God's straight path. Please understand I am not cowering or leaving because I have conceded that I am a godless or fake Christian as some have been wrongfully labeled here tonight. I haven't been more proud of our people than tonight as I watched two loyal servants give the most solid speeches of their lives tonight. Personally I would never have an abortion but I think it's each persons right to choose and up to god to judge them, not man. Same with sexual preference. I could care less what someone else does in the privacy of their home. Let god judge them. Not me.

I thank you for the hundreds of thousands of U.S. military personnel on duty today, serving under hostile fire in Iraq and Afghanistan and the horn of Africa -- men and women like my son who has deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq four times since 9/11.
They have bought with their great sacrifice, some with their own blood, the chance for self-determination for over 50 million Iraqis and Afghanis, who for the first time in their lifetimes, have been able to participate in free elections.
Father, please dispatch legions of angels to make sure that all the military ballots are counted. They certainly have paid the price to cast them and deserve at l-e-a-s-t that much from this nation.

My eldest son is one of these volunteers. He has volunteered countless hours pursuing a cause he believes You breathed into him. It has been a royal pleasure to watch You fan the blazing flames of Your Holy Spirit within him as he gave of himself for this cause. As You can understand, my son is putting his life on the line today because he is showing hospitality by hosting drinks and snacks to those standing in the long poll lines this afternoon. Help me overcome the lack of faith I have because I am somewhat nervous and fearful for him which reveals my inner weakness. I am begging You to keep my boy safe because I do not believe in my spirit I am ready to give him up yet. You have seen the ugliness, the prejudice, the intimidation, and the hatefulness this election has drawn out in our people. I am very disappointed and grieved over the way Americans have allowed something like race to infiltrate their common sense and morality. I do expect Obama to win but the outcome of this election is less important to me than those who may face persecution and taunting while attempting to exercise their voting privileges. Please keep all people safe today. I know I sound like a broken record but You know what I have already encountered at the grocery store, in parking lots, walking down the sidewalks, and interacting with church going people. Thank You for that distraction which takes my mind off of the election for a few moments. But then I come back and see media news and find myself in high gear anticipation. Lord, I pray for both candidates, John McCain and Barak Obama, that they are able to settle down after this long fought race and both be prepared for winning or losing. It can go either way although I am expecting a win from McCain but if it isn't Your will then I am accepting of that. We will continue to pray always for our nation. I went to Mass this morning and then went to vote. God will protect us and be with us not matter what. We all should be praying every day in our life's, on the way to work, at work, no matter when our thoughts are wandering to stupid things in our life. Put them out of your mind by praying instead.

I pray we will turn to Him as our tower, as our shield. I implore Him to revive His Body, the church, in America for we have failed to show Him accurately to our country. Further, I implore Him to bring a new Christian spiritual awakening to our land that will spread like a wildfire to the ends of the earth.
In His Name, I come against the powers of darkness who deceive the lost and hide the Truth especially in this election, but everyday. Their power is limited by the Unlimited One.
May the media be held in check as election returns are broadcast so that they CANNOT cause the vote to be influenced to their desired outcome.
May we "rejoice in the Lord always; I will say it again, Rejoice!" May His peace, that surpasses understanding, guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.
