Day Nine: The Supremacy of God's Truth

I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.
--Isaiah 45:19

Awesome God, You are the source of all truth.  There is no truth to be found anywhere in all creation apart from You.  All your words and ways are true and Your righteous laws last forever.  I praise You for that truth today, and acknowledge that I want my life and my ways to be aligned with Your truth.

Father God, as we look to the elections this fall, it is sometimes difficult for us to know what is true and what is not.  We struggle to discern outcomes from the words that candidates speak.  May our nation be bathed in Your truth throughout this election season.  Grant a discerning spirit to your people that we may not follow the one who is most attractive, brave, clever or charming, but that we may long for and ultimately discern the truth with Your help.  Amen.
