Day One: The Authority of God

You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other… Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.
--Deuteronomy 4:35, 39

O Lord God, You alone are our God, sovereign over all creation.  There is no authority given but that which You give. 

As we look to the elections this fall, may our nation acknowledge You as our highest authority.  While many things vie for our interest, affections and attention, may we keep our eyes focused on You, acknowledging that You are God alone, the highest power to which we can appeal.

Bring a revival of passion for You to our nation in the days to come, O God.  Let all Americans see You and know in their hearts that You alone are God.  Amen.
